GUINEA AND MALI ADOPT CARGO TRACKING NOTE
Governments of Guinea and Mali have introduced Cargo Tracking Note (CTN) of (Bordereau de Suivi Cargaison (BSC) which must be obtained at the port of departure (Load) prior to shipment. The responsibility relating to the issuance of the CTN/BSC and all costs is with the cargo owner or shipper.
For Guinea the new policy takes effect from 1 August 2010, while Mali is from 1 July 2010. Both countries are using the same company, Antaser Afrique based in Belguim, as the worldwide general agent.
The CTN/BSC number must be included on the manifest for imports destined for the two countries. The supervisory government department involve in the project in each country are their Shippers Councils.
Local representatives of the agent (Antaser Afrique) are to ensure that every shipment at the port of discharge to check for the CTN/BSC number, shipment without it would suffer delays and fines or even outright seizure.
The company Antaser is also the agent involve in the controversial CTN project in Nigeria.
